Hope you are doing well and reading tonne of books.

                    Teething by Megha Rao

Book description:

A story told in verse Teething begins when Kochu a young boy in Kerala, is caught kissing the neighbour's son. All the hell breaks loose, ending in Kochu taking his own life.

Years after the scandal, after discovering his suicide note, his oldest sister, Achu, sets out to uncover the mysteries of their dysfunctional family by putting pieces of their past back together. Along the way, she discovers things she never noticed- their mother's brokeness and obsession with church, their father's disturbing secrecy inside the bedroom and, of course, their own individual traumas that stopped time altogether. Soon, Achu realizes that none of them will ever truly grow up untill they live their lives all over again, from the very beginning.

My review:

Megha Rao introduced me to poetry, or perhaps it is more accurate to say that I could only comprehend her poems. I first became interested in her after reading her poems on TTT app, and I have been a fan ever since. I listened to every episode of her "poems to calm down" podcast on Spotify and followed her on Instagram to read the poetry she captioned pictures with.
This book is a song of the heart that combine themes of love, heartbreak, abuse, sexuality, suicide and family dynamic. I adored how each poem could be read on its own and form a cohesive whole. I want to read and listen to whatever she has to say.
I would recommend to everyone even if you are not a fan of poetry, because you are going to fall in love.

Tell me if you have read this and wht you think of it. I will see you soon utill then keep reading.
