The weight of blood
By Tiffany D. Jackson
This young adult book by Tiffany D. Jackson, which follows a biracial kid as her Georgia high school stages its first integrated prom, amps up the horror and addresses America's history and legacy of prejudice.
Residents of Springville, at least those who are still alive, all share the same account of what happened on prom night. The action was taken by Maddy.
Madison Washington has always been the subject of bullying since she is an outsider at her small-town Georgia high school. And she managed it since she had more urgent issues to take care of. Maddy's most closely-kept secret—that she is biracial—was unknown until a sudden rainfall in the morning. Because of her passionate white father, Thomas Washington, she has been living as a white person her entire life. Student leaders devise a strategy to change their reputation after a viral bullying video reveals the racist roots of Springville High. They decide to host the school's first integrated prom as a symbol of their unification. When the Black superstar quarterback girlfriend of the popular white class president asks Maddy out, Maddy wonders if it's even possible to have a normal existence.
But not all of her classmates have given up on her yet. They are unaware that Maddy still has a secret, one that would ultimately cost them all their lives.

The American roomate experience By Elena Armas
From the author of the Goodreads Choice Award winner The Spanish Love Deception , the eagerly anticipated follow-up featuring Rosie Graham and Lucas Martín, who are forced to share a New York apartment.
Rosie Graham has a problem. A few, actually. She just quit her well paid job to focus on her secret career as a romance writer. She hasn't told her family and now has terrible writer's block. Then, the ceiling of her New York apartment literally crumbles on her. Luckily she has her best friend Lina's spare key while she's out of town. But Rosie doesn't know that Lina has already lent her apartment to her cousin Lucas, who Rosie has been stalking-for lack of a better word- on Instagram for the last few months. Lucas seems intent on coming to her rescue like a Spanish knight in shining armor. Only this one strolls around the place in a towel, has a distracting grin, and an irresistible accent. Oh, and he cooks.
In order to help Rosie find some reasonably priced temporary lodging, Lucas offers to let her stay with him. Then he suggests an absurd experiment to revive her creative inspiration and make her deadline: He'll go on a series of test dates with her to spark her amorous inspiration. Rosie is unaffected by losing. Although she has complete control over her ridiculous online crush, Lucas's time in New York is limited, and six weeks might not be enough for either her or her deadline.

The Kiss Curse
By Erin Sterling
The follow-up to Erin Sterling's New York Times bestselling hit The Ex Hex features fan favorite Gwyn and the spine-tinglingly handsome Wells Penhallow as they battle a new band of witches and their own magical chemistry.
Gwyn Jones is perfectly happy with her life in Graves Glen. She, her mom, and her cousin have formed a new and powerful coven; she's running a successful witchcraft shop, Something Wicked; and she's started mentoring some of the younger witches in town. As Halloween approaches, there's only one problem- Llewellyn "Wells" Penhallow.
Wells has come to Graves Glen to re-establish his family's connection to the town they founded as well as to make a new life for himself after years of being the dutiful son in Wales. When he opens up a shop of his own, Penhallow's, just across the street from Something Wicked, he quickly learns he's gotten more than he bargained for in going up against Gwyn.
Wells and Gwyn are both determined to avoid one other after their professional rivalry results in a very private—and very hot—kiss because they believe the kiss was merely a magical accident. Gwyn's magic, however, starts to fade as a mysterious new coven of witches moves into the area. Gwyn and Wells must work together to determine what these new witches want and how to revive Gwyn's magic before it's too late.
